This Black Walnut board is an absolute work of natural art. The incredibly rare figure in this gorgeous board is one of the most beautiful figures we have ever seen.

A unique grain pattern exists in curly radiating rays showcasing the heartwood and sapwood lines of the wood; juxtaposing the distinctive dark brown of black walnut with the lighter whitish sapwood. The heartwood and sapwood grains bend and curve with the amazing tiger curl figure as they radiate from the whiter sapwood towards the blacker heartwood—just an incredible piece.
A few small surface checks exist in the the top surfaces adjacent to and in the sapwood (whitish) area.
This board features a finished squared edge on the shorter edge, transitioning into a natural live edge on the inside ‘bay’ edge which has been finished to preserve portions of the bark–giving this edge amazing depth of color and character! From there the edges have been honed and sculpted to preserve it’s natural shape.
Included with the board are two Black Walnut wood rails, with anti-stick rubber grips on both sides. This design feature allows the rails to be placed upon the countertop and the board to be placed atop the rails. Since the board is not attached to the rails this allows for both sides of this incredible board to be utilized—we recommend using one side for cutting, and flipping it over for dinner parties or gatherings for use as an natural art, focal serving piece

This LONG serving board… almost 2 feet long! …has some of the most amazing coloring of all the boards we have had the pleasure to work with! The swirls of color throughout the top and feet are almost cartoon like–spalt coloring detail in colors ranging from a swirl area of bright yellow to light tan with freckles to dark brown. Black lines edge the natural swirls of color at points.
It has instances of curl/quilt grain patterning; which gives the top surface an almost 3d iridescent look to the wood. This board has a very rare combination of wood characters!
